HPC-M&BA Group delves into complex biological systems to develop understanding of underlying processes using high-throughput solutions and services. The mission is to enable HPC for cutting-edge research in computational-biology. The center envision to provide an entire spectrum of compute infractructure coupled with data analyses to accelerate life science research.
1. National cloud based computational facility for Bioinformatics

4. Deployment of freely available tools as well as inhouse developed tools for Bioinformatics

Hardware commissioned: 11 dual-socket nodes with 24 core Intel Gold processor and 192GB RAM per node; 25Gbps Ethernet connectivity; 200TB raw-NFS storage Infrastructure is accessible on NKN through in-house developed web-based portal. Middle-ware is Vanilla-Kubernetes cluster on top of Ubuntu-Linux. Services implemented include Authentication,User interface, Storage and VCF analysis
The proposed hardware and software developed will ease use of Bioinformatics tools by Life Science researchers in the country by ensuring high availability with web-based portals. Capacity building in terms of manpower training for handling and analysing large computational biology datasets
- Development of 'Integrated Computing Environment' using Docker containers and Kubernetes Orchestration
- Use of 'Service-Mesh' for interlinking Microservices
- Development of microservices for dynamic creation of containers
- Dual capability of domain knowledge in computational biology along with hardware/software expertise of developing High Performance Computing applications-Providing services to life-sciences community for compute-infrastructure and application development
