Brief History of the Centre:-
The bioinformatics centre (BIC) supported by DBT at ACTREC has been actively involved in catering the bioinformatics support to the scientists, clinicians in the field of cancer biology and cancer informatics. Users are not only from the ACTREC but are also from nearby institutions who use the infrastructure and expertise available in the centre. With the support from DBT, centre has expertise in the area of Molecular modelling, NGS & Microarray data analysis and database development. The success of BIC centre is evident with the publications reported in high impact factor international peer reviewed journals already provided in RIS file. Centre is completing 100%, all the proposed objective of each year. Seven International peer reviewed research paper has been published from the centre, two PhD student has also submitted thesis using the expertise available in centre. Project trainees from different nearby institutions have been provided projects for degree dissertation. On the occasion of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav", centre organized five web-seminar/workshop for academic faculty and research scholars from all over the country. ~ 1200 participants attended the webinar/workshop. Staff hired under the centre fund are fully supporting the researchers in compiling their research finding.
