An average
female measures :-
length of carapace .. 59 mm. breadth of carapace ... 90 mm. This species is distinguished by the smoothness of the carapace in the adult, the extreme length of which is about two-third its extreme breadth. The elypeiform expansions are well-developed, their free margins being strongly laciniate. There is no spine on the posterior border of the cara pace in the middle. The anterior border of the endostomial septum is deeply concave. Colour pinkish, the fingers of the chelipeds yellow. In a female specimen the present
collection, there is a curved line of red ocelli present during life (although
the female is an adults this disappears in spirit. Also, there is a toothed
ridge near the lower border of the palm.
