Numerous specimens, of both sexes,
were collected from Bombay. It lives altong rocks.
An average male measures :-
This species is distinguished by the narrow front with the edges of its lobes deeply concave, so that it appears to be quadridentate, and the antero-lateral borders cut into five teeth. Colour dirty yellow or grey, fingers of chelipeds black
with whitish tips. The anterior male abdominal appendage is curved, and
has its tip flat and arrow-headed and covered with long spines.
