Massarina ramunculicola Hyde

Ascomata up to 250 µm high, 360-550 µm diameter, immersed, globose or almost conical, mostly with a flattened base, coriaceous, ostiolate, with a neck, arising mostly singly. Neck: black, short, raised, seen on a black column on the host surface with a slit-like opening, periphysate. Peridium: up to 20 µm in thick, brown, composed of two layers. Pseudoparaphyses: hyaline, hypha like, branched septate, up to 3µm wide.

Asci 152-180 x 23.6-27 µm, 8-spored, bitunicate, fissitunicate, clavate, pedunculate, with an ocular chamber.

Ascospores: 35-39 x 12-18 µm, biseriate, two celled, fusiform, hyaline, slightly constricted at the septum, surrounded by a mucilaginous sheath.
