Savoryella lignicola Jones & Eaton

Ascomata 180-310 mm high, 100-220 mm diameter, subglobose or ellipsoidal, partly immersed, ostiolate, papillate, membranaceous, subhyaline to dark brown, solitary. Papillae cylindrical; ostiolar canal lined with periphyses. Paraphyses absent.

Asci 115-150 x 15-22 mm, 8-spored, thin-walled, elongate-cylindrical or clavate, short pedunculate, unitunicate, semipersistent or persistent.

Ascospores 21-36 x 8-12.5 mm, uni- to biseriate, 3-septate, constricted at the septa, ellipsoidal, central cells large, brown; apical cells small, hyaline.
