Massarina sp.

 

Ascomata: immersed or erumpent, subglobose to pyriform, brown, ostiolate, periphysate, clypeate, coriaceous, solitary.

Asci: 8-spored, cylindrical to clavate, short pedunculate, thick-walled, bitunicate, fissitunicate, with an ocular chamber not staining blue in Melzer’s reagent, without an apical apparatus.

Ascospores: 26-38 x 9-15 µm, 1-2-seriate, hyaline, ellipsoidal to fusiform, 1-septate, constricted at the septum, surrounded by a gelatinous sheath.
