host epidermis, in surface view oval to globose, in side view broadly
elliptical to subglobose with a flattened base, lying horizontal or oblique
to the host surface, brown to black, ostiolate, periphysate, coriaceous,
gregarious.
Asci :198-349 x 8.5-12 m
m, 8-spored, long cylindrical, pedunculate, thin-walled, unitunicate,
tip rounded containing a ring-like apical apparatus, wedge-shaped to oblong,
staining blue in Melzer's reagent.
Ascospores: 70-112 x 2.5-4.2 m
m, 1-4-seriate in ascus, hyaline, filiform, straight or slightly curved/S-shaped,
1-septate, not constricted at the septum, apices narrower than spore body
and rounded with mucilage, guttulate except at apices and short region
midway between septa and apices.
