DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERS OF SPECIES

Trachypenaeus curvirostris (Stimpson, 1860)

PETASMA with broad, wing-like distolateral projections, directed laterally and curved dosoventrally; distomedian projections small, curved ventrally.

THELYCUM anterior plate of thelycum concave anteriorly, with a middle groove posteriorly and blunted ointed anterior margin; posterior plate notched anteromedially.

Distinctive characters : Entire body densely pubescent. Rostrum armed with 7 to 11 doral teeth, reaching distal half of second antennular article or little beyond, usually uptitled, straight or upcurved.

Colour : pinkish to pale red
