DISTINCTIVE CHARACTERS OF SPECIES

Macrobrachium scabriculum (Heller, 1862)

 Right second pereopod of male with wooly hairs or velvetty hairs.

Distinctive characters : Rostrum with 4 to 5 dorsal teeth on carapace. The rostral teeth formula, 12 to 16 dorsal and 2 to 3 ventral. Rostrum in adult male usually extending to tip of antennular peduncle and distinctly sloping down, in adult females horizontal and slightly over reach antennular peduncle.

Colour : Greyish to pale brownish
