NIODMLI TEAM

NIO's Database on Marine Life of India (NIODMLI) is much harboured dream of the young and dynamic team of Bioinformatics Centre at the National Institute of Oceanography, Dona Paula, Goa 403 004. Current version of NIODMLI on Marine Prawns of India is an outcome of their untiring and united efforts. During its development they agreed on the many points and they confornted on few issues, but then they still strived together enfluenced with a aim to develop this unique product. Here we present the brief outline of their carrier achievements.

Vishwanath Kulkarni

Born on 23rd February 1963, Vishwanath is the Laboratory Assistant in the Bioinformatics Centre. Employed since 1988, Vishwanath has contributed a lot by way of feeding the material/literature for the database development.

Devanand Kavlekar

Resident of Goa since his birth, Devanand joined Bioinformatics Centre in 1989. He holds Bachler of Sciences in Botany from University of Bombay and is currently pursuing his Masters in the same subject from Annamali University, partly by papers and partly by research. Great artist within himself Devanand's major contribution in the current work is in the form of HTML page development as well as data integration and product packaging.

Vishwas Chavan

Libran by birth (born on October 14, 1966), Vishwas joined National Institute of Oceanography in 1991. Since then he is working on variety of aspects of biodiversity information management, computer aided taxonomy, networking and internet. Vishwas has contributed by way of validiating and authenticating the information in current product.

D. Chandramohan

Microbiologists by profession Chandramohan joined National Institute of Oceanography in the year 1982. Since its inception in 1991 he is holding charge as Officer-in-Charge of the Bioinformatics Centre and has remain the source of inspiration, encouragement and guidance for the NIODMLI. Great visionary within himself Chandramon has been very critical in his validiating and authenticating the product.
