Brief History of the Centre:-
Established as Bioinformatics Centre September 2006. BIC Centre since February 2021 The Bioinformatics centre caters to the need of teaching, training and research activities of the ACBR and neighbouring research Institutes. Teaching: ACBR is running courses M.Sc. and Ph.D. in biomedical sciences covering almost all subjects of biotechnology and related fields. This year we started PG diploma programme in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology and Drug Discovery. Research: The BIF facility is used by M.Sc. and Ph.D. students from ACBR and other institutes to solve problems in the area of diagnostics of infectious diseases, to understand basis of diseases such as cancer, infections, cardiological, neurological diseases and drug discovery, screening and development. Training: Training is provided in form of annual workshops, for long term (Ph.D.), M.Sc. Dissertation projects and Short term (Summer projects) in the field of Bioinformatics. The research work done by the students was published in reputed International Journals.

Approved Objectives of the Centre:-
1. Drug Design and Development of Bio-activity prediction server ACBR AANKALAN.
2. System Biology approach through genome mining to discover new targets.
3. Man-power training in drug design and computational biology
