Brief History of the Centre:-
BTISNet centre at CSIR- CDRI has been successfully running and fulfilling its objectives and mandate since its founding, and has played a major role in providing an integrated environment for informatics systems, computational Biology & chemistry and molecular modeling to facilitate and enhance drug design and discovery programs at CSIR-CDRI. Bioinformatics approaches are becoming ever more essential in translational drug discovery both in academia and within the pharmaceutical industry and computational exploitation of the increasing volumes of data generated during all phases of drug discovery is enabling key challenges of the process to be addressed. The new Centre funded since October 2021 has been making a meaningful difference in cutting edge research in modern drug discovery.

Approved Objectives of the Centre:-
1. Creation of co-working platform, in terms of infrastructure development and Capacity Building.
2. Creation of a discovery platform based on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
3. Creation of academia-industry linkages
4. Enabler of Bioinformatics Skill Development.
