Brief History of the Centre:-
The center performed different bioinformatics and computational studies in diverse areas including healthcare, agriculture, drug discovery, and Covid-19 related problems. We have developed various prediction tools for rapid analysis of complex datasets including genomics, transcriptomic, proteomics, and clinical data. The studiesoutcomes have already been published in peer-reviewed international journals (mentioned below). Briefly, the outcomes of the studies included the development of Artificial Intelligence-based classification tools for cancer staging, for assisting doctors and surgeons in decision-making for the appropriate interventions, for helping farmers in identifying seed varieties and plant diseases, for Covid-19-associated prognostics biomarkers and inhibitors. We have worked on Plasmodium Falciparum proteins that are important for the parasite survival. We used in silico techniques to design novel leads that can be explored as inhibitors for plasmodium falciparum DegP and tyrosine phosphatase proteins. We also computationally explored the role of micro RNAs in plant viral infections.To date we have published 9 papers and the work has been presented and appreciated on various national and international platforms. We have collaborated with different departments at AIIMS, New Delhi (also a proposed NNP partner) and other institutes and initiated working on different projects for translational outcomes.

Approved Objectives of the Centre:-
Development and application of computational biology tools to address research problems in Parasite Biology, Medical research, Synthetic Biology and Plant Biology. Development of Artificial Intelligence-based tools for healthcare.
