Brief History of the Centre:-
The Bioinformatics centre at IISER Mohali was started in Apr 2022. The centre is in the process to set it up .

Approved Objectives of the Centre:-
The centre vision is to boost bioinformatics education among graduate/post graduate and college/university teachers of this region through development of education tools, access to software and databases. The centre will provide service to analyse large-scale genomics or proteomics data. We would like to have unique identity of the center to be "Bioinformatics advanced education centre with Data analysis services". We will conduct regular workshops, and boot camps to assist students so that they can learn to use bioinformatics tools in their work. We will reach out to other scientists/researchers/clinicians in this region to explore possibilities of collaborative research work and if required, we will provide bioinformatics services. The approved objectives of the centre are:
1. Development of CBIOEduNet (Computational Biology Education network) suite of programs for education and training.
2. Online teaching modules for students/post-docs/faculties
3. Exon database of eukaryotic species (ExonVardb)
4. Database of exon-exon junction peptides (Pepjunction)
5. Database of linking isoform heterogeneity with interaction partner and tissue-specificity
6. High-throughput protein structure modeling of domain motions
7. Dynamics associated with biological function of domains affected by alternative splicing.
8. Resource server of processed/derived datasets and the computer programs developed.
9. Collaborative work as service
