Brief History of the Centre:-
Bioinformatics center at School of Computational and Integrative Sciences, JNU is a continuation of previously DBT- funded Bioinformattics COE and other projects. The center excels in cutting edge basic and applied research with a very standard to teaching in Bioinformatics, aiming to be the foremost center for learning and research in Bioinformatics.

Approved Objectives of the Centre:-
1. To develop a Bioinformatics infrastructure to provide resources to the researchers within the school, software and data archiving solutions to the general public and researchers and carrying out educational and training programs
2. To conduct workshops, crash courses and online certification programs in the cutting-edge areas of Bioinformatics and data science field.
3. Development of high quality and efficient tools/methods to increase the accuracy of analysis or to provide a wider range of analysis options
4. To provide a platform for the generation and integrated analyses of genomics data for translation into practices with the ultimate goal of health and agricultural improvement
5. To develop data-driven automated diagnostics in the area of school expertise viz. Wireless endoscopy, ECG to arrhythmia and biomedical image analysis.
6. To develop novel techniques and applications for performing molecular simulations, including with the use of artificial intelligence and deep learning
